The Carolina Panthers figure to continue their maddening quarterback carousel when the team takes the field this week against the Atlanta Falcons. As the team continues to cycle through the likes of PJ Walker, Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold, the team revealed its plans for the coming week. Entering play on short rest ahead of Thursday night's clash, the Panthers announced on Monday, via Tom Pelissero, that PJ Walker would once again be the starting quarterback in Week 10.

Despite Mayfield coming on in place of Walker last week amid the starter's struggles, the team decided to put the ball back into Walker's hands for the clash against the Falcons. The Panthers also activated Sam Darnold from IR, though that roster move doesn't seem to have impacted their decision to name Walker the Week 10 starter.

In Week 9's blowout loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Walker struggled massively before being pulled in favor of Mayfield. Walker completed just 3-of-10 pass attempts for a shocking nine total passing yards. He was intercepted twice and did not throw a touchdown and rushed once for six yards.

In relief, Mayfield was excellent, completing 14-of-20 pass attempts for 155 yards, two touchdowns, and zero picks. While it was all in vain, given the 42-21 defeat, Mayfield impressed when given the opportunity, and it would have been a reasonable move to insert him back as the starting QB in Week 10.

Instead, Steve Wilks and Co. will once again present Walker with an opportunity, and they're hoping he can pick apart the Falcons' secondary. It's hard to imagine Walker will have a long leash, however, and early struggles could see the Panthers pull the plug quickly in favor of Mayfield.
