The Carolina Panthers will have plenty of options to decide from at head coach but they could choose to stay within the organization. According to Josina Anderson, Perry Fewell will interview for Carolina's head coaching position.

When the Panthers fired Ron Rivera after Week 13, Fewell was named as the interim head coach of the team. Before becoming the interim head coach, Fewell was Carolina's defensive backs coach.

In his four games as the head coach, the Panthers lost all four games and were outscored 150-60. It wasn't Fewell's first go-around as an interim head coach as he held the same position with the Buffalo Bills in 2009.

Over his coaching career, Fewell has spent most of his time as a defensive backs coach. But with Fewell knowing the ins and outs of the Panthers' organization, it's worth giving him a look for the head coaching job.

The notion of giving the interim head coach an interview isn't uncommon in the NFL. Typically, teams will usually interview the interim head coach just so they know they did their due diligence on everyone possible.

Besides Fewell, the Panthers have already requested permission to interview Josh McDaniels, Eric Bieniemy, and Kevin Stefanski (among others). As a result, it appears that Carolina is interested in bringing in an offensive-minded coach.

Provided that, Fewell's chances of becoming Carolina's next head coach are lowered. At the same time, Fewell's experience in the NFL is an invaluable aspect of his resume. If he doesn't become the next head coach, Fewell will undoubtedly find a new place to call home in 2020.
