The NFL MVP debate between Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes remains a hot topic.
On the daily Locked On Chiefs podcast, Chris Clark and Ryan Tracy discussed the aforementioned NFL MVP debate happening around the two league superstars. Things got heated.
Article Continues BelowClark: I do not think it is fair for Patrick Mahomes.
Tracy: This is the best season of Aaron Rodgers’ career too so he is getting that Russell Wilson treatment where he is coming up against the peak of somebody else.
Clark: Well he is coming up against the peak of somebody else, but the problem is he is also going to be compared to what he did his first year that he won MVP. When he only plays 15 games, how is he going to compete with 5,000 yards? He would have gotten 5,000 yards if he played 16 games. But he did not play 16 games. So if you are looking at yards, who cares? And yeah, he threw a lot of picks late, but man, his (Patrick Mahomes) season was still pretty special, and honestly, he is easily the Chiefs’ MVP. I do think Travis Kelce deserves to be winning the offensive year, personally.
