One of the big debates all offseason has been what to do about the Hail Mary rules, and New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick isn't sure there is an easy answer. The NFL is looking at letting teams review pass interference calls, but the way Hail Mary pass interference has been called in the past has been more lenient than a normal play.

Recently, Falcons president and Competition Committee chairman Rich McKay said that Hail Mary plays are officiated as a survival of the fittest and it's unclear how they will be handled during a review.

Belichick said on Wednesday that this seems to be why there is so much debate over the issue, and he isn't sure there is an easy way to solve it.

“I think they’re trying to solve problems that are difficult problems,” Belichick said at a Wednesday press conference via Pro Football Talk. “If there was an easy solution, it’d be a five minute meeting. But there’s not, so the Competition Committee and the people in the league and the officials and so forth are trying to figure out the best way to do it. We’ll see what they come up with. I think it’s a tough problem.”

It's expected that the talks will happen this week involving the coaches and how to go forward with this rule change and the competition committee should have their suggestions on the table. This is a story that might take a year or two to figure out how exactly to go forward.
