New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is arguably one of the best coaches to ever do it. However, Belichick gives credit and praise where it is due, and there is one coach in particular that he holds to a very high standard. “There's nobody I have more respect for in football than Nick Saban – period,” Belichick said according to Creg Stephenson of AL.com.

Belichick continued his praise of Alabama's longtime coach:

“Look, of course it's flattering to be compared with Nick and the great success that he's had there,” Belichick said. “The way his team's performed, I don't think anybody's done it better than he has. I think probably every coach in football is trying to do it as well as he does it and has done it. But they do a tremendous job there, Nick's a tremendous coach.”

Belichick's admiration for Saban comes as no surprise since Saban produces a powerhouse team at Alabama literally every season. The program prides itself in having numerous first rounders, and high value picks each season. It's safe to say Saban sways a lot of athletes to commit to the school based on the team's incredible track record.

“Certainly learned a lot from him during the time we were together,” Belichick said. “(He's) been a great friend and a coach I have tremendous, tremendous respect and admiration for him. And whenever we get a chance to visit, it's really a great opportunity to me to learn from somebody that I respect so much and know how much knowledge and — I would say just knowledge and application, real football application — he has.”

Nobody in terms of coaching has won more than Belichick in recent years since he has been with the New England Patriots and has reaped the benefits of a world-class quarterback like Tom Brady.

“They win almost every game they play anyways, so it’s really incredible what he’s done there; the program he’s built, how consistent he is and the way he does it with a lot of class and great discipline and great execution and passion.”

Belichick has no doubt created his own legacy as a head coach. He credits a lot of his success to NFL legend Bill Parcells, and Belichick doesn't pass praise around often. Clearly, Belichick holds Saban to a similar standard regarding who has helped him achieve the success he has.
