New England Patriots wide receiver N’Keal Harry was widely expected to be traded in the offseason after he voiced his displeasure with the organization. However, he’s ultimately stayed put and it is still around on cutdown day after they released Cam Newton in a shocking turn of events.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick spoke on Harry’s role in 2021, who is currently recovering from a shoulder injury. Via PFT:

“I think N’Keal had a good camp,” Belichick said. “Glad we have him. I think he’ll make a big contribution to our team.”

Harry has been disappointing after being snatched up in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He’s collected just four TD’s in two seasons with the Patriots and has just 45 receptions. However, Belichick clearly still has belief in Harry’s abilities, despite the slow start to his professional career.

The New England coach also made it clear that he never discussed a trade with Harry’s agent in the offseason despite the player himself making it clear that he wanted out. Hopefully, year three can be a much different story for the Patriots wideout as he looks to make an impact and help the team get back into the playoffs with a new quarterback at the helm.
