New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft being accused of soliciting a prostitute is shocking, but Devin McCourty is ready to approach that distraction the same way the team has dealt with other distractions in years past.

McCourty said in a recent interview that Bill Belichick has taught the team to let whoever is dealing with the distraction deal with it, and no one else needs to make comments on it.

“Bill [Belichick] talks about it all the time when distractions or different things come up,” Jason McCourty said Sunday during an interview at the InterContinental San Juan via NBC Sports. “He says, ‘Whoever’s dealing with it, you allow them to deal with it.’

Belichick has always told the players that no matter what other players say about a situation it isn't going to change the situation, so it's better that they don't comment.

“There’s no comment than we can make on somebody else’s situation that’s going to help it,” McCourty added. “It doesn’t do anything. If another guy is dealing with a situation you can just say, ‘I’m talking to him, communicating with him, wishing him well and hoping everything works out.’ There’s nothing I can do to help that person. Looking at it through that lens helps to minimize it in your world because you have your own responsibilities and priorities to take care of.”

That type of approach to dealing with distractions is probably a big reason that the team has so much success.

The Patriots focus right now is to get ready to win another Super Bowl, not the legal issues that Kraft is dealing with.
