Devin McCourty and Jason McCourty of the New England Patriots have expressed some concerns with the NFL return amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Devin McCourty said on Sunday night's Double Coverage podcast that he believes many are nervous about returning just because they don't know what will happen, or what it will look like:

“I think everybody's nervous, because the norm is that we just go to work — we put in a lot of work, we bond together, we lift, we're in close quarters. It feels like that's all being taken away from us, so I don't know how to react. I don't know what's it's going to be,” Devin McCourty said Sunday night on the “Double Coverage” podcast via Mike Reiss of ESPN.

Jason McCourty also admitted all the players testing positive for the coronavirus is very concerning. San Francisco 49ers players who were working out together in Nashville tested positive, and McCourty figures that was only 10 guys.

The big concern is if there were positive tests coming from 10 guys, what will happen when everyone is together for training camp:

“It's kind of scary because something like that, I think it was probably just offense, so they probably had maybe 10 guys out there. When you think about the future, if it's hard for 10 guys just to get together to do little passing drills or anything of that nature, to think about somewhere between 53 and 90 guys in a training camp, it's going to be insane. So I don't know how that's going to turn out.”

In the podcast, the McCourty brothers still sounded like they wanted an NFL season to happen, but with all the question marks, it's just hard for any player to know exactly what that will look like.

Hopefully, in the next month, there will be a better understanding of the pandemic and the football season can happen while everyone stays healthy.
