The New England Patriots had a breakout star this preseason in the form of undrafted wide receiver Jakobi Meyers.

Meyers burst onto the scene immediately, putting up big numbers in the first week of the preseason. In that game, the receiver racked up six receptions for 69 yards and two touchdowns.

Meyers didn't stop there though. He followed that performance up with another six-reception game, this time for 82 yards. The next week saw him reel in seven catches for 74 yards. In the last week, he caught just one pass for 28 yards – but he didn't get nearly the time.

With that fantastic preseason, Meyers earned himself a role on the 53-man roster. However, that hasn't made him content. Meyers clearly wants to be great and he has his motivation. He took to instagram to remind his critics that he isn't “too slow.”

If we're being honest, Meyers likely won't be a main target to start the year. He made the roster though. That's an impressive feat for any player, let alone an undrafted rookie on the New England Patriots.

Now it's time to grind. He's been doing it all camp and preseason, so nothing's changed. He worked his way into a spot on the team, and now he has to climb the depth chart ladder.

If we've learned anything this preseason, it is not to bet against Jakobi Meyers when it comes to his on-field abilities.

He reminded himself and his critics of what they've said about him in the past and also mentioned that it didn't stop him, as he's getting ready for a Week 1 game in the NFL.

How far can Jakobi Meyers climb though? The sky is the limit as the rookie clearly has his motivation to be great.
