The New England Patriots will look a bit different next season. With Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski making their way to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, there have been quite a few major changes made in New England this offseason.

Patriots veteran fullback James Develin adds to the new landscape this week.

The 31-year-old Develin recently announced that he would be retiring from the NFL after a lengthy stint with the Patriots. However, Develin now knows exactly how he wants to give back to football upon officially hanging up his cleats.

“I’m considering any kind of possibility that kind of comes my way,” Develin said when asked about his life after football, via NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk. “It would be an honor to be able to continue to provide support for the team, albeit in a different way. But I have an innate sense in me that I have to kind of give back to this game that gave me so much. Any kind of capacity that I can do that in is something I’d be interested in doing…

“I’ve been playing for 25 years and I know a lot about the game, I’ve been through a lot of experiences within the game, so I think that there’s a certain level of knowledge that I have that I can pass on to the next generation of players, wherever that may be. Being able to help people in general is always something that I look onto fondly. Being able to do that and also contribute to the game of football, it’s definitely something that I’m considering.”

In addition to his time spent with the Patriots, which ranged between 2012 and 2019, the three-time Super Bowl Champion also briefly spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals between 2010 and 2012. Undrafted out of Brown back in 2010, Develin even reached a Pro Bowl in 2017.
