Jamie Collins' career hasn't exactly gone as planned since he was traded to the Cleveland Browns. Now back with the New England Patriots, though, the veteran linebacker has a golden opportunity to rehabilitate his value before hitting the open market as a free agent next spring.

CBS Sports analyst and former player agent Joel Corry listed Collins as one of ten big-name players with something to prove in 2019.

Collins found out the grass isn't always greener on the other side during his two-and-a-half seasons with the Browns. The only thing greener for Collins's stint in Cleveland is his wallet. He made $27 million from the four-year deal he signed in January 2017 before his release in March.

Collins has returned to the Patriots on a one-year, $2 million deal containing an additional $2 million in incentives. He played his best football with the Patriots, earning All-Pro honors in 2015. Collins has reportedly made a great impression since returning to New England, who drafted him in 2013's second round before trading him to the Browns during the middle of the 2016 season.

Collins, 29, signed with the Patriots in mid May, two months after he was released by the Browns.

A 2013 second-round pick, he spent the first three-and-a-half seasons of his career in New England, quickly developing into one of the league’s most versatile linebackers. After being named Second Team All-Pro in 2015, he was traded to the Cleveland midway through the following season in exchange for a future third-round pick.

Despite signing a four-year, $50 million contract shortly after his debut campaign with the Browns, Collins never quite got comfortable in Cleveland. He started all 16 games last season, finishing with 104 tackles and four sacks, but failed to reach the esteemed level of play that was commonplace for him with the Patriots.
