The New England Patriots decided to trade Rob Gronkowski to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday, reuniting him with Tom Brady. While Gronkowski and Brady will be playing together again, Julian Edelman unfollowed and then followed Brady on Instagram.

Of course, in today's society, everyone ran to social media to see the reactions from the Gronkowski trade. Amid the reactions, some people found out that Edelman no longer followed Brady on Instagram. However, the veteran wide receiver would follow Brady back, likely after seeing the reaction it stirred from fans.

At first glance, some people believe that Edelman unfollowed Brady to show his discontent with Gronkowski joining him in Tampa Bay. But it's unlikely that Edelman would choose to use Instagram as the platform to show his disappointment in the move.

Given Brady and Edelman's close relationship, Edelman's ploy to unfollow his former quarterback could have been a humorous joke. He could have foreseen the media making a big story out of it and knew unfollowing Brady would draw some attention.

Before Brady signed with the Buccaneers, he and Edelman spent 11 seasons together in Foxborough. Throughout their 11 seasons together, they would win three Super Bowls with the Patriots. Just a year after Edelman joined New England, Gronkowski would be drafted by the Patriots.

Once Gronkowski arrived in New England, Brady, Edelman, and he became a close-knit trio on and off of the field. While some people believe Edelman is lashing out like a high-school teenager, his decision to unfollow Brady was likely a plan to create headlines during a slow time in sports.
