The New England Patriots struggled to get the passing game going on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, culminating in the team's 33-21 defeat against their division rivals. After the game, Mac Jones was highly critical of his performance, accepting responsibility for the team's loss. Via Mike Giardi, Jones acknowledged that it's hard for a team to win when the quarterback play is subpar.

Jones had an afternoon to forget on Sunday, completing just 14-of-32 pass attempts for 145 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. Jones averaged just 4.5 yards per attempt, and just over 10 yards per completion in the critical loss against Buffalo. Rather than back down from responsibility, Jones stepped up and took the lion's share of the blame for the Patriots' lackluster performance.

It would be impossible to blame Damien Harris, who provided all of the Patriots' scoring with this three-touchdown outing. Harris racked up 18 carries for 103 yards and three TDs, but ultimately didn't do enough to push the Patriots past the Bills.

It was one of Jones' worst games of his NFL career, and his struggles have begun to mount in recent weeks. After throwing just three pass attempts in the clash with Buffalo in Week 13, Jones was picked off twice in the Patriots' loss to the Colts last week, and followed it up with two more INT's against the Bills in Week 16.

The Patriots are going to need to see some serious improvements from their rookie QB if they hope to make a run in the playoffs, as what he has provided over the past few weeks simply won't cut it for a team with lofty expectations such as New England's.
