Bill Belichick’s heartfelt actions after Patriots’ dominant win over rival Jets

After the thrilling home loss to the Dallas Cowboys last week, the New England Patriots bounced back in convincing fashion with a 54-13 win over the New York Jets in Week 7.

Much was expected out of the Patriots to be fully prepared for this AFC East matchup, which was a theme echoed by Belichick over the week. Overall, the Patriots sure had a sense of urgency over the game, which played a pivotal role in their statement win. Rookie quarterback Mac Jones guided the Patriots offense to nine scoring drives, while the defense came away with three takeaways.

Belichick sure was in a joyous mood after this pivotal win from his team. As noted by ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach went up to every player on the sideline during the late stages of the game and simply shook each of their hands.

Mac Jones was also in a good mood after recording his first career game with at least two passing touchdowns and zero interceptions.

In the big picture, Belichick is much pleased with how his team performed against the Jets, but he now wants the side to put out for promising showings in practice ahead of the upcoming Week 8 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

“Proud of the way the team’s bounced back,” Belichick said. “Hopefully we can string some good days together and head out to LA.”

The Patriots are now 2-1 in divisional play this season with both of their wins coming against the Jets.
