This offseason, the New England Patriots saw one of the biggest changes to the franchise in a very long time. Quarterback Tom Brady left the franchise after 20 years to go play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It looks like that won't be the only change though. According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, the Patriots will be making some changes to their uniforms. Don't worry though, the changes will be nothing drastic.

So it's unclear what exactly the change will be. All we seem to know at the time is that it will not be a change of the logo. Maybe they will go back to the red uniforms? That seems kind of drastic though.

Saying that the change will be “subtle” likely means that it can't be something like a color swap. Maybe the Patriots are adding or taking away a line in the uniform. Maybe they will be doing something with the pants.

Who knows at this point. It's definitely fun to speculate though. Especially with other teams making tweaks to their uniforms and branding, like the Los Angeles Rams on Monday.

In the end, uniforms don't really matter all that much. It's not going to change how the players play or how much fans care about the team.

However, we all do care about the uniforms. Just look at the backlash the Rams got for their new logo. It's been ripped apart for being boring, among other things.

That kind of backlash likely won't hit the Patriots if it's a subtle change, though. If they aren't changing the color scheme or the logo, and aren't having entirely new uniforms, people probably won't make a big deal out of it.

It's unlikely the change will be so drastic it will cause people to gush over or dump on the uniforms.

Who knows though; maybe it will be something noticeable that fans can't help but comment on. We'll just have to wait and see.
