The New England Patriots managed to cap another impressive NFL season with their 26-6 win over the New York Jets. As a result, the Patriots have once again secured the top seed in the AFC Conference going into the NFL playoffs.

This certainly is not unfamiliar territory for New England. They were able to claim last year's No. 1 seed en route to a Super Bowl win. They will be looking to carry that mojo into this year's postseason.

Despite the dominant win over the Jets, it was not the prettiest of victories for the Patriots. Following their hot start to the game, superstar quarterback Tom Brady finished with just 190 yards and two touchdowns. As a result, New England relied heavily on the run game with running back Dion Lewis toting the ball 26 times for 93 yards and a touchdown.

That said, the Patriots will likely go back to their normal pass-heavy approach once play resumes in a few weeks. New England will now have some time to get patched up with their first-round bye in the playoffs. Furthermore, they have captured home-field advantage throughout the postseason, which will undoubtedly pay huge dividends down the line should the Patriots take care of business.
