The New England Patriots are viewed by many to be the best team in football once again this season after their 7-0 start. While they still have Tom Brady and the offense has been playing well, there are still quite a few questions about them. Josh Gordon is going to be released soon and the tight end position isn't producing.

However, the Patriots are about to get a playmaker back on the field.

According to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, running back Rex Burkhead is expected to return to the field today against the Cleveland Browns after missing three games due to injury.

Burkhead is the kind of do-it-all running back that every team loves to have. He can pick up yardage on the ground, but is mostly known for his ability to make plays as a receiver. Brady needs to have a guy like Burkhead that he can dump the ball off to and pick up yardage on quick plays.

New England's offense is getting much more dangerous with the return of Burkhead. He has played in three games so far this season and has racked up 112 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Burkhead has also caught 14 passes for 117 yards on the year.

While he may not be viewed as a major impact player, the Patriots certainly think of him that way. His return against Cleveland will give Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels even more options to work with.

Expect to see him return today and don't be surprised if he makes a sizable impact right away.
