Rob Gronkowski has some pretty simple advice for oft-troubled wide receiver Josh Gordon about how to fit in with the New England Patriots.

“Work hard,” Gronkowski said Wednesday after Gordon’s first practice with the team via NESN. “Do your job. That explains it all.”

Gordon has run into his fair share of trouble since joining the league and he always seems to be suspended. There is no question he has the talent to be one of the top receivers in the league, but he is also a failed drug test away from maybe being forced out of the NFL.

Gronkowski seems to be excited to have Gordon on the board and raves about how talented of a wide receiver he is.

“He’s a really good player,” Gronkowski said. “It’s good to have him here. … I’ve never really practiced with him like that before or seen him in person play. But from what I’ve seen before, he’s definitely a great player, and I’m definitely glad to have him here.”

This isn't the first time the Patriots have taken on a troubled player and not all of them have worked out. Gronkowski thinks a big reason some didn't work out was the players weren't doing their jobs. That means the ball falls in Gordon's court to make sure he does all the right things to ensure that this partnership works.

All signs do seem to point to Gordon playing this weekend but he is still recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered last week.
