In the weeks that have followed the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII, there has been much uncertainty surrounding New England Patriots All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski's NFL future. He has yet to publicly voice what he plans to do for the 2018 season.

There have been various reports that have indicated that Gronkowski is leaning toward continuing his NFL career for at least another year. In light of that, a recent photo has surfaced with the 28-year-old looking a bit trimmer than usual after working out at the TB12 center.

It is difficult to perceive at this point what he his thinner physic means in relation to his NFL future but it does raise some questions. This could simply be a part of his workout regimen that requires him to thin out while he works toward building a more fuller body frame later in the offseason as training camp draws closer.

There is no telling what this could mean but it shows that Gronkowski is at least working out during the offseason to keep himself in shape. Much of that could tie in with the recent reports that he is aiming to play in the 2018 campaign for his ninth season in the league. What should also be noted is that he still has two years left on his six-year, $54 million extension with $19 million left in both base salary and bonuses.

There isn't any rush at this point to get an answer from Gronkowski, but the closer training camp nears the higher level of scrutiny will be placed on his decision regarding his NFL future. In the meantime, the Pro Bowler looks to be in great health if does decide to come back another year with the Patriots for a chance to possibly work toward another deep run in the playoffs toward the Super Bowl.
