Tom Brady is still playing well in spite of his advanced age in football terms. That alone gives the New England Patriots quarterback a good reason to relax a bit and enjoy the Halloween spirit.

Arguably the best quarterback of all time took to his Instagram profile to get on with the Halloween festivities and posted an image of him in costume. This year, he decided to come in as an iconic character of the Star Wars universe.

This is an entertaining costume choice for the Patriots' first-choice QB as it points out to an interesting irony between his costume and his abilities on the football field. Stormtroopers are notorious in the Star Wars universe for their inability to properly shoot their targets. Meanwhile, the 42-year-old quarterack has won six Super Bowl rings thanks to his incredible work inside the pocket.

However, it's not all fun and games when it comes to this post. Brady teased about his inability to practice with the team this week, and Ian Rapoport detailed his current condition.

Brady is having a fantastic 20th season for the Patriots. He has already thrown 2,251 passing yards and 13 touchdowns through 200 pass completions and eight games. However, his age makes it hard to keep these high levels of production up. In fact, he wasn't allowed to participate in full practice due to his injured shoulder.

However, these minor setbacks won't stop Brady from achieving his ultimate goal: playing up until the ripe age of 45.

Per Fox News' Paulina Dedaj:

“I’ve said that number for a long time and I work pretty hard at it every day and I think that's part of me being a professional and giving my best to the team,” Brady said. “It’s making sure my body is in great condition, that I’m able to take the field. I take a lot of pride in that.”

Nobody's questioning Brady's intentions at this point. And if he does want to make it until 45, it's in the Pats' best interests to be careful with his health.
