The New England Patriots are struggling, and Tom Brady thinks one of the reasons is the team isn't taking advantage of the attention being put on Rob Gronkowski. Gronkowski was the team's leading receiver against the Detroit Lions, but he only caught four passes for 51 yards.

The fact Gronkowski led the team with 51 yards is concerning, and the Patriots need more production out of him and their other weapons to turn around their season. Brady said the offense needs to gain confidence on the practice field and carry that over to the game so they can take advantage of what opposing defenses are doing to Gronkowski.

“It’s really been three weeks in a row where he’s gotten the majority of the coverage focused on him,” Brady said on WEEI Monday. “If I was a defensive coach I would be focusing my attention on him too. It just comes down to us getting out of that by getting the ball in other parts of the field, to different areas. We just haven’t been able to do that, certainly last night. … I think we can play a lot better than how we played last night, but thinking and doing are two totally different things. You have to go prove it on the practice field and gain some confidence, and then you have to carry it over to the game. Gronk is going to get coverage and it gives other players opportunities. At certain times we have done a good job of that and last night I didn’t think we did a good job at all.”

The good news for the Patriots is they should have reinforcements coming. Josh Gordon will probably be back this week from a hamstring injury, and Julian Edelman will return from suspension after this weekend's game. They are targets who could make New England's offense much more explosive than it has been.
