The New Orleans Pelicans have already announced that All-Star forward Anthony Davis will be sitting out in their game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. Shortly after, the team have also informed the press that forwards Darius Miller and E'Twaun Moore won't be playing as well.

This will leave the Pelicans with limited options at front court, as Jahlil Okafor and Julius Randle are expected to play more minutes for the team.

This is the first time that both teams will square off against each other since the controversial trade request surrounding AD a couple of weeks ago.

This Pelicans' injury woes could benefit the Lakers, as they are trying to get back into the playoff race in the West. They are currently 10th in the conference standings with a 29-29 record, and a win against New Orleans could get them closer to the eighth seeded Los Angeles Clippers.

The Lakers are starting to get healthy, as LeBron James seems to have fully recovered from the gron injury he suffered last December. Rajon Rondo has also been playing well as of late following his second hand surgery this season. So far, only Josh Hart (knee tendinitis) and Lonzo Ball (bone bruise) are the ones who are not available for the purple and gold.

The Pelicans have already began rebuilding as they have already traded sharp shooter Nikola Mirotic to the Milwaukee Bucks. They are expected to trade AD and Randle this summer as they have failed to do so during the trade deadline.
