New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard J.J. Redick passed former Orlando Magic teammate Rashard Lewis for 17th place on the all-time three-pointers list during Sunday's loss to the Orlando Magic:

Redick finished the game 5-of-9 from three-point range and scored 23 points as he continues to put together a fairly strong campaign. He has now scored 73 points over the course of the last three games after dropping 31 against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.

The former Duke star initially struggled with injuries as a member of the Orlando Magic—where he played alongside Lewis—but he has since become one of the premier sharpshooters in recent NBA history.

Redick entered Sunday's game as a .414 career shooter from beyond the arc while also shooting close to 90 percent from the free-throw line. He figures to pass an injured Klay Thompson on the all-time list in a matter of games, and should also surpass both Kobe Bryant and Chauncey Billups within the year.

New Orleans signed Redick to a two-year, $26.5 million deal this summer in the hopes that he would provide even more backcourt scoring to complement Jrue Holiday while giving Lonzo Ball an outlet on the perimeter.

Unfortunately for the Pelicans, Redick's individual performances have not resulted in team success. New Orleans fell to 6-21 with the loss, and Redick himself may very well be a trade candidate.

Redick himself has tried to block out the rumors:

New Orleans almost certainly will not recover to make a playoff run this season, and Redick will be in a walk year next season. The Pelicans figure to decide if he will be part of their future plans before February.
