With the 2019-2029 season suspended indefinitely, New Orleans Pelicans guard Josh Hart has challenged the Memphis Grizzlies and the Portland Trail Blazers to a rap battle on which team will get the eighth seed.

When the NBA postponed the season last week due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most teams had less than 20 games remaining in their regular-season schedule. While some teams had qualified for the playoffs, there will still a number who were jockeying for that one final spot. In the West, the Memphis Grizzlies sport a 32-33 record. Three and a half games behind are the Portland Trail Blazers with a 29-37 record and the New Orleans Pelicans with a 28-36 record.

Hart, who's been watching the league since he was a young tot, knows how things could turn out in the race for the eighth spot. If the NBA resumes, it would be unfair for the league to take the standings for what it is at the time of the suspension. Hart seems to imply that the regular season needs to push thru before heading to the postseason if ever the NBA season does resume.

As of this writing, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended a postponement of events of 50 plus people for the next two months. In light of this, several league executives are looking at the resumption of the season mid-t0-late June with no fans.

Of course in the past, by mid-June, the NBA Finals would've already concluded. Does this development mean that NBA 2019-20 season has wrapped up?
