New Orleans Pelicans Lonzo Ball is slowly finding his footing with his new team and he has earned some much deserved praise from his back court mate Jrue Holiday.

The Pelicans absorbed a 139-132 overtime loss to the Phoenix Suns at home on Thursday, but the 22-year-old UCLA product came up with his best performance in a NOLA jersey . He finished with season highs of 20 points and 11 assists to go along with six rebounds, three steals, and two blocks in 43 minutes.

Needless to say, Holiday had some positive praise for his back court mate following the game.

ā€œHe's getting more comfortable. The way he pushes the pace, getting into the paint, making plays for other people. Even defensively, scrambling and making it hard on everybody,ā€ Holiday described Ball after the game, per Pelicans writer Jim Eichenhofer.

Aside from stuffing the stat sheet, Ball also enjoyed an efficient night shooting the basketball, going 6-for-9 from the field (66.7 percent) and 4-for-5 from behind the arc (80 percent).

Moving to New Orleans from Los Angeles in the offseason as part of the massive Anthony Davis deal, Ball has fit in nicely with the team's young nucleus and has been solid in the Bayou alongside fellow former Lakers Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart.

Ball has assumed the starting point guard position for head coach Alvin Gentry and is averaging 11.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 14 games so far. The team has lost its last seven games and has dropped to 14th place in the West with a 6-16 record.

The team is expected to have the services of this year's number overall pick Zion Williamson in the coming weeks. It will be interesting to see if Ball and Williamson can have their own version of Lob City in New Orleans.
