New Orleans Pelicans forward Julius Randle has only played a few games alongside new teammate Anthony Davis, but the 31 outings he has played alongside him have proven the best of his career — enough reason to entice him to finish his career playing next to The Brow.

Randle and his teammates have been inundated with rumors surrounding their star teammate, whether it is subtle recruitment pitches coming by way of LeBron James or the overcasting shadow of the always interested Boston Celtics, who are sure to shoot their best shot at the big man.

“Well, we don’t really focus on it. We don’t talk about it,” Randle told Andy and Bryan Kamenetzky of The Athletic. “We’re focused on the moment of now, and competing, and getting better as a team and reaching our full potential as a team. We really like our potential.”

Asked of his personal take, Randle noted he won't interfere with Davis' important decision as a supermax player coming into the best opportunity of his career — remaining supportive, but optimistic he would stay in New Orleans.

“At the end of day, AD is gonna do what’s best for AD,” said Randle. “I don’t know what that is and I don’t want to have any influence on what that is. But he’s earned that right to do what he wants to do, as far as what’s best for him. Obviously, I would love to continue to play with him for the rest of my career. Shoot, it would be amazing. He’s one of those players that’s earned the right to do what’s best for him and his family, and I support him 100 percent on that.”

Randle is averaging a career-high 19.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game playing alongside Davis, who is posting MVP-worthy numbers of his own. If the two can help the Pelicans pull ahead in a tough Western Conference, there is a chance Davis opts to stay and continue the partnership he eagerly lobbied for during the summer.
