Apparently, breaking rims is laissez-faire for the New Orleans Pelicans.

Zion Williamson actually damaged the rim during Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers. Of course, the former No. 1 overall pick has a unique combination of speed and power, attributes he has displayed on a number of high-flying jams. Still, damaging hoops is usually a feat reserved for big men like Shaquille O'Neal or Darryl Dawkins.

No matter, the Pelicans were unfazed. Point guard Lonzo Ball explained the incident was not very surprising, adding Zion is capable of bringing the rim down at any moment:

“Once the refs told us what the delay was, I don't think anybody was surprised,” Ball said, via ESPN's Andrew Lopez. “At the end of the day, you know, he can break a rim anytime.”

Williamson continues to put on an offensive display in his sophomore season.

The former Duke star is averaging 23.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists through his first 21 games. Williamson is shooting close to 60 percent from the field, seemingly getting whatever he wants on the interior and using his explosiveness to exploit slower big men.

As for Ball, it is unknown how much longer he will be in New Orleans. The former No. 2 overall pick has had his name thrown about in trade rumors as the Pelicans look to trim the backcourt fat and open up minutes for rookie Kira Lewis Jr. and fellow youngster Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

The Ball-Williamson combination has provided some incredible highlights for the Pelicans, but it might not be long before the half-court lobs are at an end.
