Count Lonzo Ball as enthusiastic to play alongside 2019 first overall pick Zion Williamson.

Ball spoke to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk on Saturday and talked about his new teammate:

“Man, I've never seen somebody that size move like him,” Ball said of the hyped rookie out of Duke. “… He's only 19, right? He's definitely a freak. I've never seen nothing like it.

Lonzo Ball was moved to New Orleans in the Anthony Davis trade, wherein the Lakers also sent Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and multiple first-round picks in order to acquire the All-NBA-caliber power forward in Davis.

Ball only played roughly half the season this past year, however, due to a season-ending ankle injury in January. The eldest Ball brother struggled to mesh with the arrival of LeBron James, only averaging 9.9 points in 47 games. The UCLA product, selected with the second pick in the 2017 draft, had no trouble passing the rock and distributing to find teammates, but had continued to struggle shooting from deep or at the free-throw line.

The prospect of playing alongside the consensus All-American in Williamson excites Ball:

“Honestly, you just got to run the lane, set screens and roll,” Ball added of Williamson. “With his game and with him getting a full head of steam, it's going to be very tough to stop him. So I think we play fast and get out on the break as soon as possible.”

The Pelicans could see a lineup that includes Ball, Williamson, Ingram, Jrue Holiday, and newly acquired veterans JJ Redick or Derrick Favors. The team portends to be a fast-paced and vertical threat.
