During Monday's duel between the Brooklyn Nets and the New Orleans Pelicans, Nets fans chanted “LeBron didn't want you” at Brandon Ingram while the forward was on the free-throw line.

Per Michael Lee of The Athletic, Ingram was not fazed by the chants and casually drained both free throws and scored on the next offensive possession.

To recall, Ingram was traded from the Lakers to the Pelicans over the summer after months of trade rumors. While he was with the Lakers, various rumors reveal that the two weren't necessarily seeing eye-to-eye. Ingram, who was evolving into a ball-dominant offensive player, seemingly couldn't co-exist with James who has always been the focal point of the teams he's played on.

With the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram seems to be coming on his own. For the season, he's averaging 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 steals. He's shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from deep.

His career-night against the Nets on Monday is a clear indication that Ingram has the capacity to be a superstar in this league. He dropped a career-high 40 points, along with five rebounds, and five assists. He was 17-of-24 from the field, 1-of-3 from deep, and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. Nets fans can talk trash all they want. But Ingram seems to be happy in the position he's in right now.
