REPORT: Pelicans have no interest in trading Jrue Holiday
Superstar big man Anthony Davis has requested a trade from the Pelicans, so teams around the league were under the assumption that New Orleans would embark on a full rebuild and trade Jrue Holiday as well.
However, it doesn’t look like that is the case, as the Pelicans love Holiday and what he brings to the table.
Amid the Anthony Davis talks, teams calling on New Orleans' next best player — guard Jrue Holiday — tell ESPN that the Pels are indicating no interest in moving him. Beyond this season, Holiday has three years, $77M left on deal through 2022.

In 52 games this season for New Orleans, Jrue Holiday is averaging 21.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 8.0 assists per contest. The 28-year-old is shooting an efficient 47.9 percent from the field, 33.2 percent from beyond the arc and 75.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Holiday is making $25,396,111 this season. The two-way guard is owed $26,131,111 next season, $25,396,111 in 2020-21, and has a player option worth $26,285,000 for the 2021-20 season.
Jrue Holiday is one of the best two-way players in the NBA. He gives you 20 points every single night while also playing elite defense on opposing guards. Losing Anthony Davis is going to hurt the Pelicans, but keeping Holiday may not be such a bad idea since you can build a team around him if it is done correctly.
