The New Orleans Pelicans have been one of the most disappointing teams in the early NBA season, and it seems as if they are ready to make a couple of moves.

With Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson there to stay, along with Steven Adams, the Pelicans are exploring trading away a couple of their starters, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Stan Van Gundy is in his first year as Pelicans head coach and has had a tough time being able to win basketball games.

Lonzo Ball has been underwhelming, especially since the addition of Eric Bledsoe in a trade that sent Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Ball is averaging 12 points per game, which is a bit higher than last season, but his assists are at a career-low 4.7 per game. He is shooting just 29 percent from beyond the arc, and the Bledsoe-Ball pairing in the backcourt doesn't seem to be working out by any means.

JJ Redick is playing just over 20 minutes a game this year, which is the lowest since 2008 when he was with the Orlando Magic. Redick can still shoot the ball at a high clip and teams in playoff contention in need of a shooter could benefit greatly from Redick's deep-ball ability.

The Pelicans currently sit with a 5-10 record and 14th in the Western Conference, so their trip to the playoffs is far from likely. With that being said, it's no surprise that they are sellers at the deadline in an effort to improve with eyes on the future.
