Jaxson Hayes of the New Orleans Pelicans threw down a vicious monster slam against the Chicago Bulls in the Summer League.

Off a pick-and-roll play, Hayes elevated for the athletic spike over Mychal Mulder.

The crowd was in awe of the 19-year-old's spectacular finish. The commentators, too, were forced to stop momentarily to completely absorb what just transpired.

Hayes was originally picked by the Atlanta Hawks but was eventually traded to the Pelicans. The 6-foot-11 forward-center recently inked his rookie-scale contract with New Orleans.

The Texas standout spent one year with the Longhorns where he averaged 10.0 points on 72.8 percent shooting, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 32 games. He was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and earned Second-Team All-Big 12 and Big 12 All-Defensive Team honors.

Hayes will be joining the relatively young Pelicans squad comprised of Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Jrue Holiday and Zion Williamson. In an interview with Nick Moyle of the San Antonio Express-News, Hayes shared his thoughts on sharing the floor with another athletic big man in Williamson.

“I think it will pair really well,” Hayes said. “We’re both really athletic guys. Zion obviously is a freak. But I feel like we’ll match up really well together.”

Indeed, it will be an exciting and interesting 2019-2020 season for the new-look Pelicans. Most eyes will be on Williamson as well as New Orleans' new players. But fans should also take a look at Hayes moving forward.
