The Pittsburgh Penguins haven't lost more than two consecutive games at any point this season. A good team with aspirations of making noise in the playoffs, they've also never rattled off more than six victories in a single stretch.

While the Penguins — like every other good NHL team — want to do big things when it matters most, they aren't looking too far ahead.

“That’s what we’ve focused on this year,” defenseman Brian Dumoulin said during Zoom interviews Monday, via TribLive. “We’ve really controlled what we could. We’ve really focused on the next game and not getting too far ahead of ourselves. Thinking about the future and the possibilities of what we can be as a group.”

Depending on who you ask, Pittsburgh has off-and-on disappointed when it comes to the postseason.

Forever loaded with talent, at least that's what it seems like, they've seen some early exits come the playoffs. If the Penguins want to turn their fortunes around, though, they certainly have the talent to do just that. It's not a matter if they are capable of doing it, it's just whether or not this is their year. It's how Tim Tebow fans feel about him, I guess?

Brian Dumoulin made a good point about not looking too far ahead, even if every Penguins fan is already doing it themselves.
