Philadelphia Phillies star outfielder Bryce Harper had to adjust to a new role in the 2022 season, that of a designated hitter. Harper, who is forbidden from throwing or playing in the field thanks to a slight UCL tear in his elbow, has been relegated to a hitting role for the past few weeks. Given the uncertainty of the injury, a slow start at the dish and the new reality of not playing in the field, the Phillies star's morale was pretty low.

Enter former National League MVP and Phillies star Jimmy Rollins, who joined the team this offseason as a special advisor to president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski. Rollins spoke to Harper and delivered this epic message, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

“You’re the baddest man on the planet,” Rollins told Harper, albeit in slightly more colorful language.

For a superstar at his most mortal, struggling with an injury, a slump and a new role, those amounted to magic words.

“He just needed to be reminded how good he was,” Rollins said.

Rollins told Harper that he is “the baddest man on the planet.” That's evidently all the Phillies star needed to hear.

With Rollins and Phillies hitting coach Kevin Long in his ear, Harper proceeded to go on a tear in May, batting .347 with seven homers, 18 RBI, 17 runs scored and three stolen bases.

And Rollins earned every bit of that special advisor salary from the Phillies.
