Ben Wallace has finally been given entry into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The former Detroit Pistons center has built a reputation as one of the toughest, most hard-nosed players to ever grab a rebound in The Palace of Auburn Hills, or in any arena, really.

The Pistons star admitted, however, that his “biggest stamp of approval” didn't come from the voting committee – it was from his own daughter.

Via Wilton Jackson of Sports Illustrated:

“She’s going to ninth grade this year and she was watching clips of me playing with her friends and that’s when she realized she had something to dress up for because I was good,” Wallace said with a laugh. “I’ve been certified, approved and can walk into the Hall of Fame a happy man.”

The Pistons All-Star hilariously revealed that his daughter needed to make sure that he wasn't a “bum on the court”. Imagine anyone else in the world telling Ben Wallace that he may or may not be a bum.

Pistons fans know that Ben Wallace was anything but a bum on the court. The man was a 4-time All-Star, 5-time All-NBA selection, and garnered four Defensive Player of the Year awards, tied for most in NBA history. But more importantly, now his daughter knows it too.
