Paris Saint-Germain stars Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi have put on a historic performance in the UEFA Champions League.

Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi led Paris Saint-Germain to a stunning 4-1 UEFA Champions League victory over Club Brugge.

The Frenchman got the party started for PSG, having scored the club's first two goals of the game. Unbelievably, Mbappe finished a brace in just seven minutes of pitch action with his first goal came on the second minute. He has now extended his Champions League tally to 30 goals to become the youngest player to achieve the feat.

What's even more interesting, the said goal milestone was previously held by his PSG co-star Lionel Messi, who himself also set a goal record during the same game.

Messi scored PSG's 38th minute-goal and a penalty on the 76th minute. This has made him the only player to have scored a goal against 38 different clubs in the UEFA Champions League.

Reflecting on their sensational display after the game, Mbappe lauded Messi for his consistency and even hailed the Argentine as “the best player in the world.”

“It's easy to play with Lionel Messi. He's the best player in the world,” the PSG striker said via Marca. “He won the Ballon d'Or a few days ago. He scored two goals today, he is happy, and I hope he will help us in the future.”

PSG has now secured a spot to qualify for the tournament's knockout stage where they will be trailing behind only Manchester City.
