Purdue basketball earned an 87-66 victory over Indiana on Tuesday. The Boilermakers looked sharp throughout the game. Senior big man Zach Edey led Purdue with 33 points and 14 rebounds in what was an extremely impressive performance.

According to ESPN, the 87-66 victory was Purdue's largest win while playing on the road at Indiana since January of 1934. Edey dropped an honest admission following the contest, via ESPN as well.

“This was my last chance to get a win here,” Edey said.

Edey is one of the best players in college basketball. Tuesday's performance displayed his ability to dominate on the boards and in terms of finding the bottom of the net. At 7'4, Edey is an intimidating presence to say the least.

Zach Edey enjoying another strong season with Purdue basketball

He finished the 2022-23 season with impressive statistics. Edey averaged 22.3 points per game a season ago. In 2023-24, Edey has been just as good, if not better.

He is currently averaging 22.9 points per contest on 62.7 percent field goal shooting. Edey is also averaging 11.1 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game.

He does not shoot three-pointers but dominates in the paint. He plays an old-school style of basketball that has led to success at the college level.

It will be interesting to see how Edey's game translates to the NBA. Many big men in today's game feature the ability to stretch the floor. At 7'4, however, Edey may still be able to find success on a consistent basis in the paint.

Speaking of finding success, Purdue basketball is now 17-2 this season. The No. 2 Boilermakers appear to be one of the best teams in the nation. They are unquestionably a threat to win the national championship this year. Of course, as college basketball fans know, anything can occur during March Madness.

Regardless, there is no denying this team's potential moving forward. Zach Edey and Purdue basketball will look to continue performing at a high level as the season continues.
