The Las Vegas Raiders will have their two biggest contributors on their corner in their Week 3 matchup against the New England Patriots. Both previously listed as questionable, running back Josh Jacobs and tight end Darren Waller are expected to play as the team aims to stretch their win streak to three.
ESPN Senior NFL insider Adam Schefter disclosed the developments on the Raiders' camp via Twitter:
Sophomore ball-carrier Josh Jacobs had an explosive season debut as he ran a total of 93 rushing yards on 25 carries along with three rushing touchdowns. Darren Waller contributed 45 receiving yards on 6 receptions in the Raiders' tight 34-30 opening game win against the Carolina Panthers.
The two were at the forefront of the team once again in their second encounter of the season against the New Orleans Saints. Jacobs tallied 88 rushing yards on 27 touches while Waller chalked up 105 receiving yards on 12 receptions and a scored touchdown for the Raiders. The Men in Black pulled away with a 34-24 upset against the powerhouse Saints.
The Las Vegas-based squad will look to carry over their hot start as they visit the Patriots in Foxborough for Week 3 proceedings. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and his men are heading into the matchup with a split 1-1 record. The team won their opening game against the Miami Dolphins but lost on a nail-biting defeat against the Seattle Seahawks.
With Jacobs and Waller available to play on Sunday's game, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden will look to take advantage of the Patriots' undermanned defensive rotation and preserve the team's unblemished record.
