Ironically, most Americans are rooting for Canada's Team, the Toronto Raptors, in the 2019 NBA Finals.

SFGate's official Twitter account posted a map of the U.S. showing 47 of the 50 states are rooting for the Raptors. They will take on the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

According to SFGate's Eric Ting, (the gambling site BetOnline produced the above map):

The map is based on geotagged data from Twitter that examines how often fan hashtags such as #WeTheNorth for the Raptors and #DubNation for the Warriors are used in each state.

It's hard to say from Twitter data why there is so much more excitement surrounding the Raptors, but it's not too surprising that the nation would like to see someone other than the Warriors win the title.

Forty-seven of the 50 states (and presumably all of Canada) are rooting for the Raptors, but California, Nevada, and Hawaii are rooting for the Warriors, according to BetOnline.

Even though the Raptors eliminated the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers on their way to the NBA Finals, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are still supporting Toronto over Golden State.

The Raptors are on the cusp of winning their first NBA title. Not only that, but if they win, they will become the first Canadian team to win an NBA championship.

On the other hand, the Warriors are seeking their third consecutive NBA title and fourth in the last five years. If they win, they will secure their fifth title in franchise history.

Something's got to give. Expect an exciting NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors.
