After missing four games due to a groin injury, Toronto Raptors point guard Delon Wright is set to make his season debut against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, according to a report from Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun.

Wright's injury occurred on Oct. 10, causing him to miss the Raptors' final preseason contest. Now, however, it seems he's recovered enough for on-court action.

Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry have picked up most of the minutes at the point guard position in Wright's absence. VanVleet has made the most of his increased playing time. In fact, he's currently averaging 11.5 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.0 rebounds in 24.8 minutes per outing.

Wright made 69 appearances with the Raptors during their 2017-18 regular-season campaign, racking up averages of 8.0 points on 46.5 percent shooting from the field (36.6 percent from beyond the arc), 2.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and a steal in 20.8 minutes per game.

Wright, who will likely see limited minutes at first, plays an important role for the Raptors. He's proficient at the 1, but he's also a solid 2-guard. His return could cut into VanVleet's playing time a bit. It will be interesting to see how head coach Nick Nurse juggles the talent at his disposal.

Wednesday night's Raptors-Timberwolves game is scheduled to tip inside Scotiabank Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET. With a win, the Toronto will match its best start to a season in franchise history (5-0 to start the 2015-16 season). According to ESPN, the Raptors have won 14 straight home games against Minnesota, which is a franchise record for consecutive games against one opponent at home.
