Despite a loss to the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry forged his name into the franchise record books as one of the best passers the Canadian NBA team has ever seen.

Per NBA on ESPN, Lowry's 19 assists in their 132-125 loss to the Celtics ties the Raptors franchise record.

Lowry simply had the passing rhythm on Thursday. It seems that he perfectly read what type of defensive coverage the Celtics were giving him. And he pretty much abused it for most of the night.

Lowry had tons of pick-and-roll plays with his forwards and centers.

He also found his teammates camping behind the line. This wasn't the perfect pass but it got the job done.

Apart from his 19 assists, Lowry also had 14 points and three rebounds. But thanks to his vision, five other Raptors players scored in double-digits led by Chris Boucher who had 30 points, Norman Powell with 25, Terrence Davis with 22, Stanley Johnson with 14, and Aron Baynes with 13.

It was definitely a scoring fiesta but it's just unfortunate that the Raptors came up just short.

Of course, Lowry has always been an assists man. For his career, he's averaging 6.2 assists per game. His best passing season was in 2018-19 or the year the Raptors won the title where he averaged 8.7 assists per night.

Statistics reveal that the Celtics outrebounded the Raptors 39 to 28. The Celtics also had 54 points in the paint compared to 44 from the Raps.

The Celtics also had the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown who each finished with 27 and 21 points, respectively. They made some key buckets in the fourth quarter to which Toronto failed to respond. This game marked the latest plot twist in each Eastern Conference team's respective season. One wonders if these teams' trajectories will change in a meaningful way after the NBA All-Star Game in Atlanta.
