Former Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III didn’t like the way his former teammate, Santana Moss, put him in a bad light during a radio interview, so he took to Twitter to try to defend his honor.

These were Griffin’s initial reactions to what was said by Moss during an appearance on 106.7 The Fan. The former wide receiver told the radio show that one of the reasons Washington split up with Griffin was because the quarterback displayed excessive schadenfreude after learning of former Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan’s firing in 2013.

“When the whole thing went about, we hear that Mike Shanahan's not coming back the next year, then we hear the quarterback like, ‘Hey. Mm-hmm,'” Moss told The Fan. “Like, basically saying that, ‘Hey, you got me out of here not playing last year, the last few games, then that's what happens. You get fired.'”

Griffin and Shanahan had a rocky relationship during their time together in Washington. In 2013, Shanahan benched Griffin in favor of then-backup Kirk Cousins for the last three games of the season in which Washington finished with a poor 3-13 record that came after the team made it to the playoffs in Griffin’s rookie season.

Griffin was released by Washington in 2016 and thereafter was signed by the Cleveland Browns. His stay didn’t last long, however, as the Baylor product played for the team in only five games before the team cut him back in March.
