The Washington Redskins have made it clear that they will continue to explore all options on the table when it comes to the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Former Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann has since made it clear that their path to redemption begins with Ohio State defensive end Chase Young.

It has been deemed a foregone conclusion that the Cincinnati Bengals will take LSU quarterback Joe Burrow at No. 1 overall. Theismann was adamant about Washington not passing up on a talent like Young with the next pick, via TMZ Sports.

There is certainly plenty of truth to Theismann's comments. Although there has been plenty of speculation regarding quarterback Dwayne Haskins' promise as a franchise player, there is not a surefire option to replace him with in the draft.

Meanwhile, Young has been pegged as a generational talent on the edge and his versatile skill set would make him an ideal fit in their new defensive scheme. Regardless, Washington has made efforts to be coy about their plans for the rest of the offseason after striking out on a number of big names in free agency.

Fortunately, they will have the opportunity to add arguably the best player in the draft with Young to help kickstart the rebuild.
