While many players signed record contracts in free agency this summer, many more on the fringe struggled to find homes. Due to a lack of NBA interest, their paths often veer abroad.

That's exactly what happened to DeJuan Blair. The 27-year old Pittsburgh product flourished as a backup (and often starting) big for the San Antonio Spurs at the outset of his career, but his role, and subsequently his numbers, dipped big-time with the Washington Wizards.

With few options in the states, it appears that Blair will head to the far east. According to Sportando via the Beijing Youth Daily, Blair is nearing a deal with Jiangsu Tongxi in China.

Tongxi finished 12-26 last season and missed the playoffs, so Blair could play a vital role in revitalizing the club.

Last season, Blair was sent from Washington to the Phoenix Suns in the Markieff Morris trade. Shortly after, he was waived. He remained out of the league the rest of the season.

Known for not having ACLs in either of his knees, averaged 7.8, 8.3, and 9.5 points over a three-year stretch with the Spurs. Hopefully, with a fresh start in China, DeJuan Blair can find that same kind of success on the court once again.
