The Houston Rockets have a chance to make the playoffs tonight with a home win over the Sacramento Kings. If they make the postseason, Marc Stein is reporting that the chances of current head coach J.B. Bickerstaff keeping his job are pretty high.
However, the Rockets will also likely look at former Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau and former Thunder coach Scott Brooks, both highly experienced and excellent choices.
Getting Houston to the playoffs, coaching sources say, will inevitably earn J.B. Bickerstaff greater consideration for the full-time post.

But NBA coaching sources stress Houston has strong interest in the two most coveted coaches on the market: Tom Thibodeau and Scotty Brooks.

The Rockets will also look at a big summer of free agency as James Harden will lead the charge. With Dwight Howard likely to leave, it should open up a lot of room to make moves.
