The Los Angeles Lakers have been busy during the first few days of free agency. They've brought in newcomers Timofey Mozgov and Luol Deng, and now they've reached a new deal with Tarik Black.

According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, Black has agreed to re-sign a two-year, $12.85 million contract with Los Angeles.

The athletic big man will be competing for minutes in a crowed front court that also includes Mozgov, Julius Randle, and Larry Nance. Last year, he averaged 12.7 minutes in 39 games, putting up 3.4 points and four rebounds a night.

Black was initially undrafted after spending his college career at Kansas, but he earned minutes with both the Houston Rockets and Lakers in 2014-15.

Black's biggest asset to the Lakers is his motor; they'll surely push him to play with that vigor, hoping that it'll rub off on his teammates. Given the Lakers' poor performance as of late, they'll need contributions from everywhere as they rebuild.
