The focus for the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency is obviously to keep Kevin Durant. The former MVP is being courted by a number of other teams that have also made him their top priority, but OKC has long been considered the favorite to sign a deal with KD, at least in the short-term.

On top of that, the Thunder are now apparently in the running to land another one of the big-name free agents on the open market. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Oklahoma City is attempting to open up cap space with the hope of signing Atlanta Hawks center, Al Horford.

Given that Horford will want close to $30 million at the start of his contract, the Thunder are aggressively looking to move both Enes Kanter and Kyle Singler in order to make space, according to Windhorst's sources. They might also end up waiving Anthony Morrow.

Those three moves would shed a little over $25 million, making the prospect of re-signing Durant and bringing in Horford at least plausible.

Horford's ability to stretch the floor as a big man has made him quite attractive to organizations around the league. He can defend both power forwards and centers proficiently, and if needed, he can extend his jumpshot beyond the arc, especially in the corners.

One advantage Oklahoma City has over other teams, other than the superstar talent they have in place with Russell Westbrook and possibly still KD, is Billy Donovan. Donovan was Horford's head coach at the University of Florida; together, they won back-to-back national championships.

Add in the fact that Durant has expressed interest in playing with Horford, and this dream scenario for the Thunder really could end up coming together.
