The Milwaukee Bucks‘ new signing, Jason Terry, could soon see a future in the sidelines, according to his former coach Rick Carlisle.

“It looks like he’s headed towards a career in coaching, which will be a very positive addition to our game,” Carlisle told Dallas Mavericks beat writer Dwain Price.

The 17-year pro out of the University of Arizona has been winding down his playing career with four different teams the past five years and has failed to average double digits in the past three seasons.

If Terry is indeed leaning towards a coaching career, he's in the right place to get tips as his current coach, Jason Kidd, also transitioned from being a player to a coach shortly after his retirement in 2013 after 19 NBA seasons.

With the Mavericks facing the Bucks tonight, Carlisle offered some final thoughts on the two former teammates now reunited as player and coach.

“Two great champions,” he said. “It's pretty simple to sum that one up.”
