Carmelo Anthony goes at troll NBA fan on Instagram
After known basketball trainer Chris Brickley posted a video of Melo and others squaring off in the gym, Anthony jumped in the comments of the video to sound off on two trolls. One was questioning whether or not Melo could do this during the regular season and the other called out Melo’s defense — or lack thereof.
Melo is part of the new-school NBA where every little comment on social media seems to get to him. Much like Kevin Durant, Melo can’t handle criticism from trolls so he feels the need to respond every so often.
It’s part of what makes social media so great and so bad at the same time.
Anthony will have much more important things to focus on in the upcoming season. He joins the Houston Rockets and needs to find his role on the squad. He’s still an excellent spot-up shooter and can thrive in the role of a stretch four. This could be exactly what the Rockets need in order to replace Luc Mbah a Moute and Trevor Ariza.
Melo should see a ton of open shots this year as Chris Paul and James Harden are two of the best ballhandlers in the pick-and-roll and Clint Capela is an exceptional roll man whose gravity can cause help defenders to sink in off shooters.
Melo doesn’t need to worry about the trolls in the comment section. His main focus should be on how to help his team win this year.
