On a night when the Houston Rockets were in a must-win situation, Eric Gordon stepped up to ensure a victory for his team.

Gordon scored 30 points, hitting seven 3-pointers in the process to help the Rockets escape with a 126-121 overtime win against the defending champions Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of their Western Conference semi-finals matchup.

After the game, Rockets guard Chris Paul lauded Gordon's efforts, adding that he's a valuable member of the team.

The Rockets were, of course, led by reigning MVP James Harden, who scored 41 points, including the clutch baskets in the overtime period. But it was clear that he needed assistance on the offensive end, and with Paul struggling, it was Gordon who answered the challenge.

The Warriors are still up in the series two games to one, but the Rockets are riding a huge wave of momentum heading into Game 4 on Monday. However, in order for them to tie the series, Gordon must replicate his performance tonight.

Aside from Gordon, another unsung hero during the game was PJ Tucker, who made two baskets in the crucial moments of the overtime period. Head coach Mike D'Antoni also praised him after the game for ‘not allowing us to lose.'

With the talent that the Warriors have, the Rockets will need to make sure that they provide enough support to Harden. Gordon has already shown that he can step up when things matter the most, but other guys on the squad will need to do their part as well.
